  1. This is such a cool and interesting way to tell the story of Hansel and Gretel! Is baking something that you do often or that you are interested in pursuing further?

  2. What were your reasons for leaving out the siblings parents in the recipe? Were these characters not significant in your interpretation?

I think your interpretation of the story was very cleaver, especially making them gingerbread cookies and burning the witch.

  3. Wow! I loved how you used the flexibility this assignment gave to be creative, and knocked it out of the park. What made you video your recipes for Hansel and Gretel opposed to writing it and attaching images ? I really enjoyed the visuals and the different segments that correlated with each event in the plot ex. burning of the witch. I believe the reason why I enjoyed it so much was because it related to me as a child, fantasizing the sweetness Hansel and Gretel got to taste. I always wanted to be there, breaking off a piece of gingerbread from the house or eating a piece of candy from the window . Your retelling brought back these memories. Curious to know, what variant of Hansel and Gretel did you use? I also enjoyed the diversity of the different recipes, the cookies, pies and rice krispies, and how they all simultaneously came together to create a storyline. Very creative and interesting way to retell this story. Great job !

  4. Your interpretation of Hansel and Gretel in recipe form was very interesting to me, as I don’t think I would be creative enough to transform a story that dramatically while keeping the original story there, good job!

  5. Hi Brianne, I thought this was a very creative approach to the assignment and I really enjoyed watching it! I was wondering why you chose this cooking demo format to retell the story and were the ingredients arbitrary or did they symbolize something?
